Don't Call It A Bromance

Yes, we are still doing this.

Bob’s Bio

My signature picture, whether I like it or not.

I wrote this in May 2013, but I’ll keep it how it is just for the novelty of it.

What’s up everybody? I’ll try to keep this short, unlike my first blog post that is about to go live.

Sports have been a love of mine since before I can remember, and in recent years, I have loved writing about them whenever I can. To echo what Matt and Harry have said in their bios, I have no idea why I have never done this before. It feels like every week, there is at least one thing that I feel like writing about. My outlet for that has generally been the occasional Facebook interaction or tweet (@_BobHayes_), and I have also had the great pleasure of hosting a weekly sports radio show for the last four years.

While it’s been a great run at New Trier, I am looking forward to taking my talents to Evanston next fall at Northwestern University. While it is reasonable to assume that I will be at the Medill School of Journalism, I will actually be doubling up on Economics and American Studies at NU’s Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences. I do, however, look to continue my involvement with radio and try to write a little bit for The Daily Northwestern. If this blog still exists next year, I will update this with information. Sports and journalism will always be close to my heart, and we’ll see where it takes me.

While I love sports, you will also find me writing about other things I love– music, movies, television shows, and books. It’s really whatever is on my mind at the time.

My main goal with this blog is not to be dogmatic about whatever I am talking about; I seek to start a conversation. My hope is that someone, somewhere finds whatever I have to say interesting, even if he or she adamantly disagrees with me.
